أولاً: المصداقية المفقودة.. إيمانٌ بلا أفعال (إيمان ميت)
أطل علينا يوم أمس الجمعة 17 نيسان 2026 الرئيس جوزاف عون بخطاب “خشبي” بامتياز، مكرراً معزوفة الوعود التي لم يرَ منها اللبنانيون شيئاً منذ توليه سدة الرئاسة. لقد بقي “خطاب القسم” الذي تلاه يوم انتخابه مجرد حبر على ورق، واليوم يعود بكلام إنشائي دون أي خطة تنفيذية ملموسة. وهنا نذكره بما جاء في رسالة القديس يعقوب: “أَنَّ الإِيمَانَ أَيْضاً بِدُونِ أَعْمَال مَيِّتٌ”. إن ثقة اللبنانيين لا تُبنى بالخطابات الرنانة بل بالأفعال التي يفتقدها عون تماماً، فهو “يتكلم كثيراً ولا يفعل شيئاً”، محاولاً باستمرار التغطية على عجزه خلف مفردات “الصمود” و”التضحية” وانتقاد المعارضين لحزب الله الإرهابي والإيراني الجهادي الذي يحتل لبنان ويعيث فيه تدميراً وفساداً وتهجيراً وإفقاراً.
ثانياً: الحقد، ضيق الصدر، وتخوين المعارضين لاحتلال حزب الله بدلاً من محاسبة الحزب وتسمية الأشياء بأسمائها
يكشف الخطاب عن ذهنية لا تقبل النقد وتضيق ذرعاً بالمعارضة السياسية؛ فالرئيس جوزاف عون بدلاً من أن يحاسب الجهة التي تسببت بالدمار والخراب، أي حزب الله، ذهب لصب جام غضبه على الأصوات السيادية التي انتقدت “تغطية” الرئاسة لدويلة حزب الله. يظهر ذلك بوضوح في الجمل التالية من كلمته:
“تحمّلنا اتهاماتٍ… وإهاناتٍ… وتجنياً وأضاليل”: هنا يضع النقد السياسي في خانة “الإهانة والتجني”، وهي لغة عسكرية لا تقبل الجدل.
“لا تسمحوا للأصواتِ المشكِّكة والمخوِّنة أن تزرعَ الفِرقةَ بينكم”: في مفارقة عجيبة، يصف المعارضين بـ “المخوِّنين” بينما هو يمارس التخوين ضدهم لمجرد أنهم شككوا في جدوى خياراته.
“تغلّبوا على غرائزِ المضلّلين”: يصف الرأي الآخر بـ “الغريزة” والتضليل، وكأنه يمتلك الحقيقة المطلقة.
“لا تنجرّوا خلفَ من يستغلُّ عواطفَكم ليبنيَ مجدَه على حسابِ استقرارِكم”: اتهام مباشر للمعارضة بالانتهازية والمتاجرة بآلام الناس.
إن هذا الهجوم الشرس على المعارضين لحزب الله (حصراً) يثبت أن الرجل لا يكتب خطاباته بنفسه، بل يترك الأمر لفريق من المستشارين “الودائع” (جماعات بري وحزب الله والقومي السوري والانتهازيين والكتبة والفريسيين)، الذين يهدفون من خلال هذه اللغة إلى إسكات أي صوت يطالب باستعادة الدولة من خاطفيها.. الثنائية الشيعية الإيرانية. إن بياناته تصدر بلغة انتقامية من “السياديين” بينما تبقى “متجابنة” ومهادنة تجاه الثنائية الشيعية وأسيادها ملالي إيران، مما يؤكد أنه مربوط تماماً بمصالح منظومة الثنائي والمستشارين الانتهازيين الذين يحيطون به ويحجبون عنه – أو بموافقته – حقائق الأمور.
ثالثاً: الجبن عن تسمية “العدو الداخلي”
في سقطة سيادية متوقعة، لم يجرؤ جوزاف عون في خطابه المطول على ذكر كلمة “حزب الله” ولو لمرة واحدة. لقد استخدم لغة التعميم الفضفاضة، متجنباً تسمية الطرف الذي استباح سيادة لبنان وقرار حربه وسلمه. رغم أن الحزب – بقرارات دولية وقانونية ومحلية (قرارات مجلس الوزراء) – يمثل كياناً خارجاً عن شرعية الدولة، إلا أن عون فضل الهروب إلى الأمام، مما يؤكد أنه لا يزال شريكاً صامتاً (أو مكرهاً) في حلف يضع مصلحة الحزب فوق مصلحة الوطن، وهو ما يسقط عنه صفة “الرئيس السيادي”.
رابعاً: البهلوانية في اللغة والهروب من استحقاق السلام
استخدم عون تعبيراً “بهلوانياً” حين قال: “أنا مستعد للذهاب حيثما كان لتحرير أرضي وحماية أهلي”، وهي محاولة بائسة لتقمص دور القادة التاريخيين (كالسادات مثلاً) دون امتلاك جرأتهم. إن كان عون جاداً في “خلاص بلده”، فكان عليه أن يمتلك الشجاعة الكافية ليقول صراحة: “سأذهب إلى البيت الأبيض وألتقي نتنياهو، وسأذهب إلى إسرائيل إن لزم الأمر لإنهاء دوامة الموت وعقد صلح دائم”. لكنه، كعادته، يفضل المنطقة الرمادية، مراعاةً لخاطر نبيه بري وحزب الله وإيران، مؤكداً أنه لا يزال في خندقهم السياسي ولم يخرج من جلبابهم يوماً.
خامساً: جماعات “قُموا تا نهني”.. عكاظيّو الزمان الرديء
لا يمكن قراءة أصداء خطاب الرئيس جوزاف عون دون التوقف عند جوقة “المصفقين” من الطبقة السياسية وأصحاب “شركات الأحزاب” وأوباش الإعلاميين الأبواق والصنوج، الذين هبّوا لإصدار بيانات إشادة وتأييد. هؤلاء يمثلون عقلية “قُموا تا نهني” (قوموا لنهنئ صاحب السلطة)، وهي عقلية لبنانية انتهازية بامتياز، حيث يندفع الجميع لمدح من يجلس على الكرسي دون أي احترام للذات أو قراءة موضوعية للحدث. إننا أمام مشهد “عكاظي” بامتياز (نسبةً إلى سوق عكاظ التاريخي)، لكنه سوق عكاظ بنسخة سياسية هابطة؛ حيث كان الشعراء قديماً يبيعون المدح والذم مقابل دنانير تُدفع لهم، واليوم نرى هؤلاء السياسيين كـ “الردّية” في فرق الزجل اللبنانية، يرتجلون المديح لخطاب الرئيس عون مقابل ضمان بقائهم في جنة السلطة أو نيل رضا المستشارين الودائع. إن بياناتهم “الزجلية” التي أشادت بكلمة الرئيس تفتقر لأي مصداقية؛ فهي مجرد طقوس وصولية لا تقارب الملفات بجدية، بل تكتفي بترديد الصدى لإرضاء “الرئيس” ومن يقف خلفه من قوى الأمر الواقع (بري وحزب الله).
الخلاصة النهائية
بهذا يكتمل المشهد: رئيسٌ غارق في الإنشائيات، ومستشارون يمررون أجندات المحاور، ومعارضةٌ تُخوَّن بدلاً من أن تُسمع، وجوقة “زجلية” تصفق للفراغ. إن خطاب 17 نيسان 2026 لم يكن “خلاصاً”، بل كان تأكيداً على أن السلطة في لبنان لا تزال أسيرة العقلية الرمادية والتبعية المقنّعة، وأن “رجل المرحلة” الحقيقي لم يظهر بعد.

I. Lost Credibility: Faith Without Works (A Dead Faith)
Yesterday, Friday, April 17, 2026, President Joseph Aoun appeared before us with a quintessentially “wooden” speech, repeating the same old symphony of promises from which the Lebanese have seen nothing since he took office. The “Inaugural Address” he delivered on his election day has remained mere ink on paper, and today he returns with rhetorical fluff devoid of any tangible executive plan. Here, we remind him of the words from the Epistle of James: “Faith without works is dead.” The trust of the Lebanese is not built on resonant speeches but on the actions that Aoun completely lacks. He “talks much and does nothing,” constantly attempting to mask his impotence behind terms like “steadfastness” and “sacrifice,” while attacking those who oppose the terrorist Hezbollah and the Iranian-Jihadi occupation that occupies Lebanon and sows destruction, corruption, displacement, and impoverishment.
II. Malice, Narrow-Mindedness, and the Betrayal of Those Opposing Hezbollah’s Occupation
The speech reveals a mindset that rejects criticism and grows weary of political opposition. Instead of holding the party responsible for the ruin and devastation—namely Hezbollah—accountable, Joseph Aoun poured his wrath upon the sovereignist voices that criticized the presidency’s “cover” for the Hezbollah mini-state. This is evident in the following phrases from his speech:
“We endured accusations… insults… slander, and misinformation”: Here, he classifies political criticism as “insult and slander,” a military language that brooks no debate.
“Do not allow skeptical and treacherous voices to sow division among you”: In a bizarre irony, he labels opponents as “traitors” simply because they questioned the utility of his choices.
“Overcome the instincts of the misleaders”: He dismisses the opposing opinion as mere “instinct” and “misleading,” as if he holds the absolute truth.
“Do not be dragged behind those who exploit your emotions to build their glory at the expense of your stability”: A direct accusation of opportunism and trading on people’s pain.
This fierce attack on Hezbollah’s opponents (exclusively) proves that the man does not write his own speeches. Instead, the task is left to a team of “entrusted” advisors (groups tied to Berri, Hezbollah, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, opportunists, scribes, and Pharisees). Through this language, they aim to silence any voice demanding the reclamation of the state from its kidnappers—the Iranian-Shia Duo. His statements are issued in a vengeful tone toward “Sovereignists,” while remaining “cowardly” and appeasing toward the Shia Duo and their masters, the Mullahs of Iran. This confirms he is fully tied to the interests of the Duo’s system and the opportunistic advisors who surround him—with his consent—shielding him from the reality of the situation.
III. Cowardice in Naming the “Internal Enemy”
In a predictable sovereignist failure, Joseph Aoun did not dare mention the name “Hezbollah” a single time in his lengthy speech. He utilized vague, generalizing language, avoiding the naming of the party that has violated Lebanon’s sovereignty and its decisions on war and peace. Although the party—by international, legal, and local (Cabinet) decisions—represents an entity outside the state’s legitimacy, Aoun preferred to flee forward. This confirms he remains a silent (or coerced) partner in an alliance that places the party’s interests above those of the nation, stripping him of the title of “Sovereign President.”
IV. Linguistic Acrobatics and Fleeing the Obligation of Peace
Aoun used an “acrobatic” expression when he said: “I am ready to go anywhere to liberate my land and protect my people.” This is a pathetic attempt to emulate historical leaders (like Sadat) without possessing their courage. Had Aoun been serious about “saving his country,” he would have had the courage to say explicitly: “I will go to the White House and meet Netanyahu, and I will go to Israel if necessary to end the cycle of death and conclude a permanent peace.” But, true to form, he prefers the gray zone to appease Nabih Berri, Hezbollah, and Iran, confirming he remains in their political trench and has never stepped out from under their cloak.
V. The “Let Us Congratulate” Groups: Okazis of a Wretched Time
One cannot read the echoes of President Joseph Aoun’s speech without pausing at the choir of “clappers” from the political class, “party corporations,” and the rabble of media mouthpieces and cymbals who rushed to issue statements of praise and support. These represent the “Qumwa Ta Nehni” (Arise, let us congratulate) mentality—a quintessentially opportunistic Lebanese mindset where everyone rushes to praise whoever sits on the throne without any self-respect or objective analysis. We are witnessing an “Okazi” scene (referring to the historic Souk Okaz), but a low-end political version of it. In the past, poets sold praise and blame for dinars; today, we see these politicians like the “repliers” in Lebanese Zajal troupes, improvising praise for Aoun’s speech to guarantee their place in the paradise of power or to satisfy the “entrusted” advisors. Their “Zajal-like” statements lack any credibility; they are merely opportunistic rituals that do not seriously address the issues, but settle for echoing the “President” and those behind him from the de facto powers (Berri and Hezbollah).
Final Conclusion
The scene is now complete: a President drowned in rhetoric, advisors passing the agendas of external axes, an opposition being betrayed rather than heard, and a “Zajal” troupe applauding the void. The speech of April 17, 2026, was not “salvation”; it was a confirmation that power in Lebanon remains a prisoner of a gray-zone mentality and disguised dependency, and that the true “man of the hour” has yet to emerge.

يا أبناءَ وطني، يا أهلي وإخوتي.
أخاطُبكم اليومَ من موقعِ المسؤولية، ومن قلبِ الألمِ الذي نعيشُه جميعًا، لا بكلماتٍ عابرة، بل بكلمةٍ صادقة تحملُ همَّ الوطنِ ووجعَ شعبِه. إنّ ما تحققَّ من وقفٍ لإطلاقِ النار، كان خلاصةَ جهودِ الجميع. هو ثمرةُ التضحيات التي قدمتموها فأيقظت ضميرَ العالم. وهو ثمرةُ الذين صمدوا في بيوتِهم وقراهم على خطوطِ النار، فأكدوا للعالمِ أننا باقون هنا، لن نرحلَ مهما حصل. وهو ثمرةُ جهود كل من استضاف او احتضن اخيه في الوطن. وهو ثمرةُ جهودٍ جبارة، بذلها كلُ المسؤولين اللبنانيين، مع كلِ أشقائنا وأصدقاءِ لبنانَ في العالم. جهودٌ وصلت النهاراتِ بليالٍ من الاتصالات، في كلِ الاتجاهاتِ وعلى شتى المستويات. فلم نهدأْ ولم نتعبْ ولم نشكَّ لحظةً، في حقنا وواجبنا. وقد تحمّلنا من أجل ذلك الكثير. تحمّلنا اتهاماتٍ … وإهاناتٍ … وتجنياً وأضاليل، ولم نتراجعْ حتى ظهرَ أننا على صواب، وحتى تأكّدَ للعالمِ كلِه أنَّ ما قمنا به كان الأصلحَ وهو الأصوب.
وهنا أتوجّهُ بالشكرِ والامتنان، إلى كلِ من ساهمَ بإنجازِ وقفِ النار. بدءاً من الرئيسِ الأميركي الصديق دونالد ترامب، وصولاً الى الأشقاءِ العرب جميعاً، وفي مقدّمِهم المملكة العربية السعودية. نعوّلُ على صداقتِهم جميعاً، لنُكملَ ما بدأناه أمس، ونُنجِزَ ما نتطلّعُ إليه.
أما الآن، نقفُ جميعاً أمام مرحلةٍ جديدة. هي مرحلةُ الانتقالِ من العملِ على وقفِ اطلاق النار، إلى العملِ على اتفاقاتٍ دائمة، تحفظُ حقوقَ شعبِنا، ووحدةَ أرضِنا، وسيادةَ وطِنا. وفي هذه المرحلة، كما في التي سبقْتها، نحن واثقون أننا سننقذُ لبنان، وواثقون في الوقتِ نفسِه أننا سنكونُ عُرضةَ لكلِ الهجمات لسببٍ بسيطٍ، هو أننا استعدْنا لبنانَ وقرارَ لبنان، للمرةِ الأولى منذ نحوِ نصفِ قرن. فنحن اليومَ نفاوضُ عن أنفسِنا، ونقرّرُ عن أنفسِنا. لم نعدْ ورقةً في جيبِ أيٍ كان، ولا ساحةً لحروبِ أيٍ كان، ولن نعودَ ابداً. بل عدنا دولةً تملكُ وحدَها قرارَها، وترفعُه عالياً، وتجسّدُه فعلاً وقولاً، من أجلِ حياةِ شعبِها وخيرِ أبنائِها لا غير.
اقول لكم بكل صراحة وثقة، هذه المفاوضات ليست ضعفاً وليست تراجعاً وليست تنازلاً، بل هي قرار نابع من قوة ايماننا بحقنا، ومن حرصنا على شعبنا، ومن مسؤوليتنا في حماية وطننا بكل الوسائل، وخصوصاً من رفضنا ان نموت من اجل ايٍ كان غير لبنان. المفاوضات لا تعني ولن تعني يوماً التفريط بأي حق، ولا التنازل عن أي مبدأ، ولا المساس بسيادة هذا الوطن.
آلاف اللبنانيين فقدناهم، هؤلاءُ أبناؤُنا لن ننساهم، ولن أسمحَ بأن يموت بعد اليوم لبناني واحد، او بإستمرارِ النزفِ من أهلي وشعبي، من أجلِ مصالحِ نفوذِ الآخرين أو حساباتِ محاورِ القوى القريبة أو البعيدة. فبين الانتحارِ والازدهار، أنا وشعبُنا مع الازدهار، وضدَّ الانتحار. وبين الشعاراتِ المضلِّلة التي تدمّر، والخطواتِ العقلانية التي تعمّر، أنا وشعبُنا مع العقلانية. وبين الموتِ العبثيِ المجانيِ والدوري بذرائعِ القضايا الخارجية، وبين الحياةِ لوطنِنا وأهلِنا، بكرامةٍ وحريةٍ ورفاه … أنا وشعبُنا مع الحياة.
قلتها واكرر، أنا مستعدٌ لتحمّلِ المسؤوليةِ الكاملة عن هذه الخيارات، وأنا مستعد للذهابِ حيثما كان، لتحريرِ أرضي وحمايةِ أهلي وخلاصِ بلدي. مهمتي واحدةٍ واضحةٍ محددة: أنْ أنقذَ هذا البلد وشعبَه. هذا ما سأقومُ به بقناعةٍ وطنيةٍ وإنسانيةٍ وإيمانيةٍ مطلقة، وأنا أدركُ أنكم معي، في سرِّكم وعلنِكم أنتم معي، في قلوبِكم وعقولِكم، أنتم معي، لأنني أعرفُ حجمَ التضحياتِ التي قدمتموها، وأعرفُ معنى أنْ يفقدَ الإنسانُ أحبّتَه أو بيتَه، أو شعورَه بالأمان.
وأقولُها لكم بصدقٍ وعزم: هذا الألمُ لن يكونَ قدرَنا إلى الأبد. وها أنا أؤكدُ بلغةِ العهدِ والوعد، أنه لن يكونَ هناك أيُ اتفاقٍ يمسُّ حقوقَنا الوطنية، أو ينتقصَ من كرامةِ شعبِنا الصامد، أو يُفرطَ بذرّةٍ من تُرابِ هذا الوطن. هدفُنَا واضحٌ معلن: وقفُ العدوانِ الاسرائيلي على أرضِنا وشعبِنا، الانسحاب الاسرائيلي، بسطُ سلطةِ الدولة على كاملِ أرضِها بقواها الذاتية حصراً وعودة الأسرى، وعودةُ ناسِنا إلى بيوتِهم وقراهم، موفوري الأمنِ والحريةِ والكرامة.
أهلي وأحبّتي،
إن قوةَ هذا الوطن هي أولاً في وعيِ شعبِه. وفي وحدتِه القائمة على الحقِ والعدالةِ وخيار العيشِ الواحد، وفقَ أصولِ ميثاقِنا الوطني. دولةٌ واحدة لها وحدَها ولاؤُنا الكامل وانتماؤنا النهائي، دستورٌ واحد نحتكمُ إليه، قوانينُ واحدة نخضعُ لها كلُنا، وقوى مسلحة واحدة تحمينا كلَنا. لا تسمحوا للأصواتِ المشكِّكة والمخوِّنة أن تزرعَ الفِرقةَ بينكم. لا تنجرّوا خلفَ من يستغلُّ عواطفَكم ليبنيَ مجدَه على حسابِ استقرارِكم. حكّموا عقولَكم، وتغلّبوا على غرائزِ المضلّلين، وثِقوا أنَّ ما نقومُ به اليوم وغداً، هو من أجلِ سلامتِكم وحمايتِكم وحياتِكم الحرةِ الكريمةِ والآمنة، ومن أجلِ أن نمنحَ أبناءَكم مستقبلًا أكثرَ أمانًا واستقرارًا، لا أنْ نُكرّسَهم أرقاماً للموتِ كلِ بضعِ سنوات، أضاحي لخارجٍ قريبٍ أو بعيد. كلُ من سقط من أجل الوطن، خرجَ من قلوبِنا قبل أنْ يخرجَ من بيوتِكم، وكلُ بيتٍ تدمّر، تهدّمَ معه جزءٌ من وجدانِنا وذاكرتِنا، ولذلك سنعيدُ بناءَه يدًا بيد، أفضلَ مما كان.
اللبنانيون جميعًا، في سفينةٍ واحدة، فإما أنْ نقودَها بحكمة، حتى نصلَ بها إلى برّ ِالأمان، وإما أن نُغرقَها ونَغرقَ معها جميعاً. لا يحقُّ لأيٍ كانَ أن يرتكبَ تلك الجريمة، لا بحجةِ شعار، ولا بغريزةِ انتحار، ولا ولاءً لغيرِ لبنانَ وشعبه. أناشدُكم اليوم، بحقِ تضحياتِكم والآمكم، وفاءً للذين رحلوا منا وأمانةً للصامدين من أهلِنا، إفتحوا قلوبَكم وعقولَكم ولا تحجبوا الرؤيةَ عن بصرِكم ولا الحكمةَ عن بصيرتِكم، بشعاراتِ الاتهاماتِ والتخوين، فالأوطانُ لا تُبنى بالغريزة، بل بالوعيِ والوحدةِ والثقة. للنازحين أقول لكم، ستعودون إلى بيوتِكم فهي تَعمُرُ بكم ونحن معكم وإلى جانِبكم، ولن نخذلَكم. وللثابتين في منازِلهم تحت الخطرِ، لن تضيعَ تضحياتِكُم سُدىً، وسيظلُّ العنفوانُ سِمتكم التي نفخرُ بها. وللمغامرين بمصيرِ لبنانَ وحياةِ اللبنانيين، أقول كفى! وحده مشروعُ الدولة في لبنان، هو الأقوى والأبقى والأضمنُ للجميع. وللعالمِ أقول: لبنان لن يُكسر، شعبه لن يموت، حقُه سينتصر. مستقبلُنا سنصنعه بإرادتنا وبإرادةِ كلِ اللبنانيين. عاش شعبي..عاش لبنان”

Citizens of my nation, my family, and my brothers and sisters,
I address you today from a position of responsibility and from the heart of the pain we are all enduring. I come to you not with fleeting words, but with a sincere message that carries the burdens of our nation and the suffering of its people. The ceasefire that has been achieved is the culmination of everyone’s efforts. It is the fruit of the sacrifices you have made, which awakened the world’s conscience. It is the fruit of those who remained steadfast in their homes and villages on the front lines, proving to the world that we are staying here and will not leave, no matter what happens. It is the result of the efforts of everyone who hosted or embraced a fellow citizen. It is the fruit of the monumental efforts exerted by all Lebanese officials, alongside our brothers and friends of Lebanon worldwide—efforts that joined days and nights of communication across all directions and levels. We did not rest, we did not tire, and we never doubted for a moment our right and our duty. For this, we endured much: we faced accusations, insults, slander, and misinformation, yet we did not retreat until it became clear we were right, and until the world realized that our path was the most sound and proper.
I extend my thanks and gratitude to everyone who contributed to achieving this ceasefire, starting with our friend, U.S. President Donald Trump, and extending to all our Arab brothers, foremost among them the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We count on the friendship of everyone to complete what we began yesterday and to achieve what we aspire to.
Now, we stand before a new phase: the transition from working on a ceasefire to working toward permanent agreements that safeguard the rights of our people, the unity of our land, and the sovereignty of our nation. In this stage, as in the one before it, we are confident that we will save Lebanon. We are equally certain that we will be targeted by attacks for one simple reason: we have reclaimed Lebanon and Lebanon’s decision-making power for the first time in nearly half a century. Today, we negotiate for ourselves and decide for ourselves. We are no longer a card in anyone’s pocket, nor an arena for anyone’s wars—and we never will be again. Instead, we have returned as a state that alone owns its decision, holds it high, and embodies it in word and deed, solely for the lives and well-being of its people.
I say to you with total frankness and confidence: these negotiations are not a sign of weakness, retreat, or concession. Rather, they are a decision stemming from the strength of our faith in our rights, our care for our people, and our responsibility to protect our nation by all means—especially our refusal to die for anyone other than Lebanon. Negotiations do not and will never mean squandering any right, conceding any principle, or compromising the sovereignty of this nation.
We have lost thousands of Lebanese; these are our children, and we will not forget them. I will not allow one more Lebanese to die from this day forward, nor will I allow the continued bleeding of my people for the sake of external interests or the calculations of power axes, near or far. Between suicide and prosperity, my people and I choose prosperity and reject suicide. Between misleading slogans that destroy and rational steps that build, my people and I choose rationality. Between a futile, gratuitous, and recurring death under the pretext of external causes, and life for our nation and people with dignity, freedom, and welfare—my people and I choose life.
I have said it before and I repeat: I am ready to bear full responsibility for these choices. I am ready to go anywhere to liberate my land, protect my people, and save my country. My mission is singular, clear, and specific: to save this country and its people. This is what I will do with absolute national, humanitarian, and spiritual conviction. I know you are with me—secretly and openly, in your hearts and minds—because I know the scale of the sacrifices you have made, and I know what it means for a person to lose loved ones, their home, or their sense of security.
I say to you with sincerity and resolve: this pain will not be our destiny forever. I affirm, through the language of oath and promise, that there will be no agreement that touches our national rights, detracts from the dignity of our steadfast people, or compromises a single grain of this nation’s soil. Our goal is clear and declared: to stop the Israeli aggression on our land and people, achieve Israeli withdrawal, establish the state’s authority over its entire territory exclusively through its own forces, secure the return of prisoners, and ensure our people return to their homes and villages with full security, freedom, and dignity.
My family and loved ones,
The strength of this nation lies first in the awareness of its people and in its unity based on right, justice, and the choice of coexistence according to our National Pact. One state to which alone we owe our full loyalty and final belonging; one constitution we turn to; one set of laws we all submit to; and one armed force that protects us all. Do not allow skeptical voices or those hurling accusations of treason to sow division among you. Do not be dragged behind those who exploit your emotions to build their glory at the expense of your stability. Let reason guide you, overcome the instincts of the misleaders, and trust that what we do today and tomorrow is for your safety, protection, and free, dignified life. It is so we may give your children a more secure and stable future, rather than consigning them to be mere numbers for death every few years—sacrifices for interests near or far. Everyone who fell for the nation left our hearts before they left your homes, and every home destroyed took with it a piece of our conscience and memory. Therefore, we will rebuild, hand in hand, better than before.
All Lebanese are in one boat: either we steer it with wisdom to safety, or we sink it and all drown together. No one has the right to commit that crime, not under the guise of a slogan, nor by a suicidal instinct, nor out of loyalty to anything other than Lebanon and its people. I appeal to you today—by the right of your sacrifices and pain, in loyalty to those who have left us, and as a trust for our steadfast people—open your hearts and minds. Do not let slogans of accusation and treason cloud your vision or wisdom. Nations are not built on instinct, but on awareness, unity, and trust.
To the displaced, I say: you will return to your homes; they are built by you, and we are with you and by your side, and we will not fail you. To those who remained in their homes under danger: your sacrifices will not be in vain, and your pride will remain the hallmark we boast of. To those gambling with Lebanon’s fate and the lives of the Lebanese, I say: Enough! Only the project of the State in Lebanon is the strongest, the most enduring, and the most guaranteed for all.
And to the world, I say: Lebanon will not be broken, its people will not die, and its right will prevail. We will forge our future by our will and the will of all Lebanese.
Long live my people. Long live Lebanon.
