To those who speak of supporting the Christians of Lebanon, we say: our presence in this land for 1,600 years is the result of our faith in Jesus Christ and our unwavering attachment to our homeland. Our faith has sustained us through every trial and remains the source of our perseverance and victories.
Consider the example of Christ Himself. Though He chose twelve disciples to stand beside Him, one betrayed Him, another denied Him, and the rest abandoned Him on the Way of the Cross. In His hour of suffering, only Simon of Cyrene stepped forward to help carry the burden.
History teaches us that words of friendship are not enough. True solidarity is measured by actions, especially in moments of hardship. Those who remain silent, turn away, or abandon suffering peoples when they need support most cannot claim to stand with them.
The Christians of Lebanon do not place their trust in political promises or passing alliances. Our trust is in God, in our faith, and in our steadfast commitment to this land. We have endured for centuries because we rely first on these foundations, and we will continue to endure by them.

وجّه نائب الرئيس الأمريكي فانس رسالةً إلى مسيحيي لبنان، حثّهم فيها على الثبات في إيمانهم بالمسيح وأكّد لهم أن لديهم أصدقاء كُثراً داخل الحكومة الأمريكية. نقول للسيد فانس: إن وجودنا في لبنان منذ 1600 عام هو ثمرة إيماننا بالمسيح وتمسّكنا بهذه الأرض؛ بل إن إيماننا هو مصدر انتصاراتنا. ومع ذلك، تأمّل في هذا الأمر: لقد اختار الرب يسوع المسيح – صاحب الإيمان الراسخ- اثني عشر تلميذاً لمعاونته، غير أن من بينهم كان هناك خائن – يهوذا الإسخريوطي- وآخر أنكره وقت الصلب – بطرس -؛ بل إنهم جميعاً تخلّوا عنه في “طريق الصليب”، ولم يبقَ سوى سمعان القيرواني ليقدّم العون. وعليه يا سيد فانس، ورغم وجود الكثيرين ممن يؤمنون بنا، فإنك لست واحداً منهم؛ فقد تخلّيت عن مسيحيي ايران وألعراق وشعب إيران والعراق، وكذلك عن مسيحيي لبنان وسوريا وشعب لبنان وسوريا، وانحزتَ بدلاً من ذلك إلى الشيطان؛ فأنت “يهوذا الإسخريوطي” في عصرنا هذا. وكمان انتصر المسيح هكذا سننتصر.

توجّه نائب الرئيس الأميركي جاي دي فانس برسالة إلى مسيحيي لبنان، قائلا:”أقول للمسيحيين في لبنان تمسّكوا بإيمانكم بيسوع المسيح، واعلموا أن لديكم الكثير من الأصدقاء في الحكومة الأميركية الذين يعملون من أجل تعزيز السلام في المنطقة. المشكلة الأساسية التي يواجهها هؤلاء المسيحيون، أو السبب الذي يجعلهم عرضة لهذا القدر من العنف، هو وجود حزب الله، وهو منظمة إرهابية اتخذت من لبنان مقراً لها فعلياً. وفي بعض الأحيان يطلق الحزب النار على الإسرائيليين، ومن الطبيعي أن يردّ الإسرائيليون دفاعاً عن النفس. لذلك هناك حالة مستمرة من الصراع المتواصل بوتيرة منخفضة. لكن الوضع تحسّن كثيراً خلال الأسابيع القليلة الماضية بفضل جهود الرئيس ووزير الخارجية ماركو روبيو، إضافة إلى العديد من المسؤولين الآخرين في الإدارة. أحياناً يحتاج السلام إلى بعض الوقت حتى يترسخ فعلاً، وهذا ما نعمل من أجله. وفي الحقيقة، هذا هو الهدف الذي نسعى إليه في المنطقة بأسرها: تغيير الطريقة التي أدرنا بها الأمور في الماضي. إنها منطقة جميلة جداً من العالم.”
A Message from Vance to Lebanese Christians

US Vice President Jay D. Vance addressed a message to Lebanese Christians, saying: “I say to the Christians of Lebanon: hold fast to your faith in Jesus Christ, and know that you have many friends in the US government who are working to promote peace in the region. The fundamental problem these Christians face, or the reason they are so vulnerable to violence, is the presence of Hezbollah, a terrorist organization that has effectively made Lebanon its base. Sometimes Hezbollah fires on Israelis, and it is natural for Israelis to respond in self-defense. So there is a continuous state of low-intensity conflict. But the situation has improved considerably in the last few weeks thanks to the efforts of the President and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as well as many other officials in the administration. Sometimes peace needs time to truly take root, and that is what we are working toward. In fact, that is the goal we are pursuing in the entire region: to change the way we have conducted ourselves in the past. It is a very beautiful part of the world.”
