قال الكاتب الصحفي والإعلامي نديم قطيش إن تصريحات علي لاريجاني الأخيرة تكشف الإفلاس الاستراتيجي لإيران وتحولها من دولة إلى تنظيم إرهابي. وأوضح قطيش في مقابلة مع سكاي نيوز عربية أن النظام الإيراني يمر بصراع داخلي ويلجأ للاستعطاف السياسي عبر خطاب شعبي وديني بعد فشل سياساته في المنطقة. كما أشار إلى أن فرص بناء الثقة مع دول الخليج شبه معدومة، وأن المشروع الإيراني الحالي على حافة الانهيار.
