The Faith and Patriotism of Father Najeeb Al-Ameel versus the Trojanism and Diabolism of the Regime, the Rulers, the Judiciary, and the Politicians under the Barbaric Occupation of Hezbollah
Elias Bejjani/31 October 2026
Oh the shame, oh the horror, oh the disgrace!
What Father Najeeb Al-Ameel, the priest of the steadfast town of Rmeish, has been subjected to at the hands of an unjust, ungrateful female judge—stripped of all human feeling, detached from reality and conscience, a compliant tool in the hands of the barbaric Iranian occupier, who knows nothing of the judiciary but its name—is a vile insult to everything that is human, to humanity itself, to reason, values, principles, and conscience.

It is a judicial and humanitarian crime complete in all its elements: a priest who stood with his people in the most difficult circumstances, who strengthened them on their land and refused their displacement, is summoned and accused of issuing a threat merely because he asked, with bitter sarcasm, about the impossibility of resorting to any force other than the Lebanese state under occupation. Instead of being honored for preserving the land, honor, and dignity, he is treated as a suspect.

In this context it a must to read the words of the Lord Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew (Chapter 23): “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in… Woe to you, blind guides… For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith.

It also veryhelpfull to read in the Gospel of Saint Luke (11:42-46) the Lord’s rebuke of the Pharisees and lawyers who load people with burdens hard to bear, while they themselves will not touch them with one of their fingers, yet neglect justice and the love of God.

This female judge—an instrument in the hands of the terrorist and jihadist Hezbollah—and those behind her, above her, and with her from the political rabble, the so falesly called political parties, the companies, and the agencies, are a filthy, degenerate, and diabolical contemporary version of those same scribes, Pharisees, and Trojans across the ages, for they turn a blind eye to occupation, destruction, displacement, and killing.

Therefore, in a loud voice that will not be silenced, I say with a clear conscience and deep conviction: May the curse of heaven fall upon the Lebanese regime, the rulers, and the judiciary of Lebanon, upon all the political parties apparatuses, companies, and agencies, and upon the political rabble of its scribes, Pharisees, and Trojans.

O God, uncover what is hidden, replace the oppressors, and grant victory to the truth and its people.

Solidarity Stand with Father Najeeb Al-Ameel in Rmeish: We Will Stay!
Nidaa al-Watan/31 October 2026
A solidarity stand was organized with Father Najeeb Al-Ameel in the square of the Church of the Transfiguration in the town of Rmeish. During the stand, Father Al-Ameel affirmed the residents’ attachment to their land and their refusal to leave it. He stressed their support for the Lebanese state while simultaneously calling on it to pay attention to their situation. He said: and with our state until the end, but our state must look after us. If we rebuild our homes, we are determined to remain here. But if we are prevented from rebuilding, it is as if they are telling us: Leave.” He added: “We will not leave, no matter the cost, and we will stay in our country.”

Exclusive to Nidaa al-Watan – The Summoning of Father Najeeb Al-Ameel for Investigation
Nidaa al-Watan/30 October 2026
Nidaa al-Watan has learned that Father Najeeb Al-Ameel was summoned for investigation in Sidon in connection with the construction of a room by one of the town’s residents, after the Rmeish police station ordered the person concerned to demolish it. In order to avoid any confrontation between this individual and the police station, and out of concern that the issue should not escalate—especially given that the town is under Israeli occupation—Father Najeeb Al-Ameel requested that the matter be postponed until more suitable conditions became available, so as to prevent any friction. However, the judge in Sidon, who contacted Father Al-Ameel, considered that his words amounted to a threat against her involving the use of “the Israeli.” On this basis, she summoned him for investigation.

Rmeish Municipality: Miscommunication Behind the Summoning of Father Najeeb for Investigation
Nidaa al-Watan/31 October 2026
The Municipality of Rmeish issued a statement that read: “Regarding the construction work carried out without a permit by one of the residents of Rmeish on the roof of his private home, and the subsequent judicial measures to stop the violation, culminating in a request that the municipality itself demolish the illegal structure—amid the absence of the necessary security support—the Municipality of Rmeish wishes to clarify the following: The Municipality of Rmeish affirms its full respect for the Lebanese judiciary and its commitment to the application of the law, while stressing the need to take into account the exceptional security conditions under which the town is living, as well as the dire living conditions of its residents. Carrying out a demolition order without security backup could place the municipality in direct confrontation with one of its own sons and endanger civil peace and the safety of the residents—at a time when Rmeish most needs the unity and solidarity of its people and their cohesion with state institutions.
In this context, Father Najeeb’s intervention with the judge concerned was motivated by his desire to avoid any conflict among the town’s residents and with what remains of the legitimate presence in it. His question, posed in a sarcastic and disapproving tone—‘What are we supposed to do, call the Israeli?’—was nothing more than an indication of the impossibility of resorting to any party other than the Lebanese security forces, and of the sensitivity of dealing with any potential confrontation under these delicate circumstances.
The Municipality of Rmeish, which has followed this matter closely from its very first moments, believes that a certain miscommunication led to this question being understood as reliance on the Israeli, and consequently to the summoning of Father Najeeb for investigation. In reality, the intent was precisely to demonstrate the impossibility of such an option and to express the urgent need for a greater, weightier, and more effective presence of the state, its institutions, and its security agencies.
While declaring its full solidarity with Father Najeeb, the Municipality of Rmeish affirms that the solidarity stand taking place in the town expresses the residents’ love, respect, and appreciation for his role. Father Najeeb has never been distant from the concerns of Rmeish and its people; rather, he has stood by them in the most difficult circumstances, defending their right to remain and hold firm on their land, and has been among the first to demand the continued presence of the state, its institutions, and its security agencies in the town. Accordingly, the Municipality of Rmeish calls upon the competent judicial authority to reconsider the decision to summon Father Najeeb and to place his words in their true context, based on its confidence in the judiciary, its respect for its independence, and its keenness that the relationship between Rmeish and state institutions remain founded on cooperation and mutual trust.
Rmeish, which today stands with Father Najeeb, is the same Rmeish that has always clung to the state and its institutions and refused to be left alone to face its fate. Its people, who chose to remain on their land despite every danger, ask for nothing more than that the state stand by their side, that the conditions they live under be taken into account, and that priority be given to protecting them and safeguarding their unity and safety.”

After the brutal murder of Father Samir Dou, stabbed 20 times inside his home by a Syrian youth who had been helping him pick olives, comes the summoning of Father Najeeb Al-Ameel, son of steadfast Rmeish, as a moral excess and a stab in the side of the steadfastness of the people of the South and the border villages.
Father Najeeb never carried a weapon. He remained and defended his right to stay despite the danger. His only “crime” is that he refused to leave the people of Rmeish and its surroundings alone in their trials. He stood with them when the state was absent, strengthened them on their land when the goal was their displacement, and was their voice when everyone else chose silence.
Instead of honoring the one who preserved the land, honor, dignity, presence, identity, and role, he is summoned like a criminal.
What message is intended for the people of the #South, the Christians, and the Maronites among them? That those who stand firm are punished, while those who flee and are displaced are rewarded?
Enough excess! Do not push the people of the South further into despair of the situation, and do not weaken their trust in the state even more—when the state appears only to oppress its own honorable sons.
Father Najeeb has the support of all of Lebanon, of the free South, and of the entire border strip. Harming him is an affront to the dignity of every person who has remained clinging to his land, and to every honorable, free, and loyal human being in Lebanon.

Is it reasonable that in a country whose land is a war zone under security threats, the state’s priority becomes pursuing building violations and summoning Father Najeeb Al-Ameel, who is helping the people of Rmeish remain steadfast on their land?
The same state that is incapable of protecting its borders and ensuring the safety of its citizens has suddenly become eager to enforce the law over a balcony and a room?
The problem is not the application of the law. The problem is a state that has lost its priorities!
Before you hold people accountable for a stone, protect the land and the people who live on it!
“Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed.”
