قال المبعوث الأميركي الخاص إلى سوريا توم براك، إنه “واثق من قدرة إسرائيل وسوريا على التوصل إلى اتفاق بشأن الحدود والأمن”. وأضاف براك خلال جلسة أدارتها هادلي غامبل، كبير مذيعي IMI الدوليين بمعهد ميلكن أن سوريا “تعلم أن جزءًا من الحل يكمن في اتفاق مع إسرائيل”. وتابع براك: “رأيي الشخصي في رغبة الرئيس (ترامب) هو أن نتوصل إلى اتفاق هناك، بدءا من اتفاقية الأمن والحدود، واستخدام المناطق، والمضي قدما نحو التطبيع، يجب أن يكون هو الحل”، مضيفا:”أعتقد أن إسرائيل تريد ذلك أيضا”.

أشار المبعوث الأميركي إلى سوريا توم برّاك، في حديث لـ”سكاي نيوز عربية”، الى أن “الميليشيات المرتبطة بإيران تعرقل عمل الدولة العراقية، وإدارة ترامب معنية بالحل الإقليمي وليس بتغيير النظام في إيران”. ولفت براك، الى أنني “لا أعتقد أن القصة قد انتهت بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران”. ورأى أن “الجيش اللبناني لن ينزع سلاح شريحة كبيرة من الشعب اللبناني بالقوة والموت”، مضيفاً “أعتقد أن سفيرنا الجديد في لبنان سيُحسن توجيه حزب الله نحو حوار مدني”. وعن ملف سوريا، قال “السوريون يُحسنون السير قدمًا في وضعٍ بالغ الصعوبة، وجزء من الحل السوري يكمن في اتفاق مع إسرائيل”. كما نقلت وكالة “بلومبرغ” عن المبعوث الأميركي إلى سوريا توم براك، قوله: أن “إسرائيل لن تتمكن من تحقيق أهدافها بمحاولة سحق حزب الله عسكريا”، معتبراً أنه “آن الأوان لإجراء حوار بين لبنان وإسرائيل لإنهاء الوضع المتأزم”.

He also voiced major concern over a renewal of Israel’s war on Lebanon.
