رسالة من 12 نائب في الكونغرس الأميركي ديموقراطي وجمهوري من بينهم النائب من أصل لبناني دريل عيسى إلى الإدارة الأميركية تطالب بمساعدة لبنان وكالات/19 أيار/2021 وجّه نواب في الكونغرس الاميركي من الحزبين الجمهوري والديموقراطي من بينهم النائب من أصل لبناني دريل عيسى رسالة الى وزير الخارجية الاميركية أنتوني بلينكن ، يحثونه من خلاله الأدارة الأميركية على اتخاذ ٤ تدابير من شأنها تحسين الوضع الاقتصادي في لبنان ومساعدة الشعب اللبناني في ظل الازمة المعيشية الخانقة. الرسالة التي نشرتها صفحة لجنة الشؤون الخارجية بمجلس النواب الأميركي على تويتر، جاءت بعنوان “نحث الولايات المتحدة على إجراء سريع وهام “. وتضمّنت التغريدة “رسالة موقعة من 12 نائباً يدعون فيها الولايات المتحدة إلى اتخاذ خطوات عاجلة مع الشركاء الدوليين لمعالجة أزمة لبنان المتفاقمة ومنع المزيد من عدم الاستقرار. ودعا النواب الذين وقّعوا على الرسالة، إلى عقد اجتماعات مع شركاء لبنانيين “متشابهين في التفكير” لتنسيق برنامج المساعدة المالية، تقديم المساعدات الإنسانية المباشرة للفئات الأكثر ضعفاً، تقديم مساعدة إضافية للجيش اللبناني، وإجراء تحقيق محايد في إنفجار مرفأ بيروت.

Dr. Walid Phares DC Face Book May 19/2021 Congressional initiative requested I had the privilege on Tuesday May 18, of joining an NGO delegation in their working meeting with Congressman Darell Issa, member of the foreign affairs and judiciary committees and of the US-Lebanon Friendship Caucus, in Congress. The congressman briefed the delegation on his ongoing action to support Lebanon’s freedom and economy. The delegation introduced a memo requesting a Congressional initiative to take steps regarding the situation in Lebanon, financially, legally, and on the security level. The delegation also explained Patriarch Rahi’s call for an international conference on Lebanon. Meetings were also held at Senators Rubio and Cruz offices who also received the memorandum. Thanking Tom Harb, John Hajjar and the staffers of all three offices for organizing the meetings yesterday on the Hill. We are expecting a letter to be issued by 12 members of Congress regarding Lebanon today.
