كَلَّمْتُكُم بِهذَا لِيَكُونَ لَكُم فِيَّ سَلام. سَيَكُونُ لَكُم في العَالَمِ ضِيق. ولكِنْ ثِقُوا: أَنَا غَلَبْتُ العَالَم/I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!

إنجيل القدّيس يوحنّا16/من29حتى33/:”قالَ التَلاميذُ لِيَسوع : «هَا إِنَّكَ تَتَكَلَّمُ الآنَ عَلانِيَةً، ولا تَقُولُ مَثَلاً وَاحِدًا. أَلآنَ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ عَالِمٌ بِكُلِّ شَيء، ولا تَحْتَاجُ أَنْ يَسْأَلَكَ أَحَد. بِهذَا نُؤْمِنُ أَنَّكَ خَرَجْتَ مِنْ لَدُنِ الله». أَجَابَهُم يَسُوع: «هَلِ الآنَ تُؤْمِنُون؟! هَا إِنَّهَا تَأْتِي سَاعَةٌ وقَدْ أَتَتْ، فيهَا تَتَبَدَّدُونَ كُلٌّ في سَبِيلِهِ، وتَتْرُكُونِي وَحْدِي، ولَسْتُ وَحدِي، لأَنَّ الآبَ مَعِي. كَلَّمْتُكُم بِهذَا لِيَكُونَ لَكُم فِيَّ سَلام. سَيَكُونُ لَكُم في العَالَمِ ضِيق. ولكِنْ ثِقُوا: أَنَا غَلَبْتُ العَالَم»
