رسالة القدّيس بولس الثانية إلى طيموتاوس02/من14حتى26/” يا إخوَتِي، ذَكِّرْهُم بِذلِك ونَاشِدْهُم في حَضْرَةِ الله أَنْ يَتَجَنَّبُوا المُمَاحَكاتِ الَّتي لا نَفْعَ مِنْهَا، والتي تَهْدِمُ السَّامِعِين. إِجْتَهِدْ أَنْ تُقَرِّبَ نَفْسَكَ إِنْسَانًا مَقْبُولاً لله، وعامِلاً لا يَسْتَحْيِي بِعَمَلِهِ، مُفَصِّلاً كَلِمَةَ الحَقِّ بِٱسْتِقَامَة. أَمَّا الكَلامُ الفارِغُ التَّافِهُ فَٱجْتَنِبْهُ، لأَنَّهُ يَزِيدُ أَصْحَابَهُ كُفْرًا، وكَلامُهُم يَتَفَشَّى كالآكِلَة، ومِنهُم هُومَنَايُوس وفِيلاتُوس، اللَّذَانِ زَاغَا عَنِ الحَقّ، زِاعِمَينِ أَنَّ القِيَامَةَ قَدْ تَمَّتْ، وهُمَا يَقْلِبَانِ إِيْمَانَ بَعْضِ النَّاس. إِلاَّ أَنَّ الأَسَاسَ المَتِينَ الَّذي وَضَعَهُ اللهُ يَبْقَى ثَابِتًا، وعَلَيهِ هذا الخَتْم: «إِنَّ الرَّبَّ يَعْرِفُ الَّذِينَ لَهُ»، «ولْيَتَجَنَّبِ الشَّرَّ كُلُّ مَنْ يَذْكُرُ ٱسْمَ الرَّبّ». في بَيتٍ كَبير، لا تَكُونُ الآنِيَةُ كُلُّهَا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وفِضَّة، بَلْ أَيْضًا مِنْ خَشَبٍ وخَزَف، بَعْضُهَا لِلكَرَامَةِ وبَعضُهَا لِلهَوَان. فَإِنْ طَهَّرَ أَحَدٌ نَفْسَهُ مِنْ تِلْكَ الشُّرُور، يَكُونُ إِنَاءً لِلكَرَامَةِ مُقَدَّسًا نَافِعًا لِلسَّيِّد، مُعَدًّا لِكُلِّ عَمَلٍ صَالِح. أَمَّا شَهَوَاتُ الشَّبَابِ فَٱهْرُبْ مِنهَا، وَٱتْبَعِ البِرَّ والإِيْمَانَ والمَحَبَّةَ والسَّلام، مَعَ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ الرَّبَّ بِقَلْبٍ طَاهِر. وَٱرْفُضِ ٱلمُجادَلاتِ الغَبِيَّةَ والسَّخِيفَة، فأَنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّهَا تُوَلِّدُ المُشَاجَرَات. ولا يَجُوزُ لِخَادِمِ الرَّبِّ أَنْ يُشَاجِر، بَلْ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَطِيفًا معَ الْجَمِيع، قَادِرًا على التَّعْلِيم، صَابِرًا على المَشَقَّات، وَدِيعًا في تَأْدِيبِ المُخَالِفِين، لَعَلَّ اللهَ يَمْنَحُهُم التَّوبَةَ لِمَعرِفَةِ الحَقّ، فيَسْتَفِيقُوا مِن فَخِّ إِبْلِيس، وقَدِ ٱصْطَادَهُم رَهْنًا لِمَشِيئَتِهِ”.

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness, and their talk will spread like [g]gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18 men who have gone astray from the truth saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and they upset the faith of some. Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.”
Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce [h]quarrels. The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.

إنجيل القدّيس متّى20/من20حتى28/””دَنَتْ مِنهُ أُمُّ يَعْقُوبَ ويُوحَنَّا ٱبْنَي زَبَدَى، وهُمَا مَعَهَا، وسَجَدَتْ لَهُ تَلْتَمِسُ مِنْهُ حَاجَة. فقَالَ لَهَا: «مَاذَا تُرِيدِين؟». قَالَتْ لَهُ: «مُرْ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ ٱبْنَايَ هذَانِ في مَلَكُوتِكَ، واحِدٌ عَنْ يَمِيْنِكَ ووَاحِدٌ عَنْ يَسَارِكَ». فأَجَابَ يَسُوعُ وقَال: «إِنَّكُمَا لا تَعْلَمَانِ مَا تَطْلُبَان. هَلْ تَسْتَطِيْعَانِ أَنْ تَشْرَبَا الكَأْسَ الَّتي سَأَشْرَبُها أَنَا؟». قَالا لَهُ: «نَسْتَطِيْع!». فقَالَ لَهُمَا: «نَعَم، سَتَشْرَبَانِ كَأْسِي. أَمَّا الجُلُوسُ عَنْ يَمِيْنِي وعَنْ يَسَارِي، فَلَيْسَ لي أَنْ أَمْنَحَهُ إِلاَّ لِمَنْ أَعَدَّهُ لَهُم أَبي». ولَمَّا سَمِعَ العَشَرَةُ الآخَرُون، ٱغْتَاظُوا مِنَ الأَخَوَين. فَدَعَاهُم يَسُوعُ إِلَيْهِ وقَال: «تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رُؤَسَاءَ الأُمَمِ يَسُودُونَهُم، وعُظَمَاءَهُم يَتَسَلَّطُونَ عَلَيْهِم، فلا يَكُنْ بَيْنَكُم هكَذَا. بَلْ مَنْ أَرادَ أَنْ يَكُونَ بَيْنَكُم عَظِيْمًا، فَلْيَكُنْ لَكُم خَادِمًا. ومَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَكُونَ الأَوَّلَ بَيْنَكُم، فَلْيَكُنْ لَكُم عَبْدًا، مِثْلَ ٱبْنِ الإِنْسَانِ الَّذي لَمْ يَأْتِ لِيُخْدَمَ بَلْ لِيَخْدُم، ويَبْذُلَ نَفْسَهُ فِدَاءً عَنْ كَثِيرِين».

Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 18/01-05/”At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? ’He called a child, whom he put among them, and said, ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”
