تذكار اكتشاف صليب سيدنا يسوع المسيح في أورشليم/3 أيار موقع قديس اليوم/03 آيار/2023
في سنة 326 ذهبت القدّيسة هيلانة والدة الملك قسطنطين الكبير إلى أورشليم قصد الكشف عن قبر المخلّص وصليبه المقدّس. وبالإتفاق مع القدّيس مكاريوس أسقف أورشليم. أفرغت الجهد في التنقيب إلى أن كشف المنقبون عن مغارة وجدوا فيها ثلاثة صلبان. وبما أنَّ الرّق الذي علّقه بيلاطس على صليب المخلّص كان مفصولاً عنه، فلم يعرف أي صليب من الثلاثة هو صليب المخلّص. فبإِلهامٍ إلهيّ عرفه القدّيس مكاريوس البطريرك بوضعه على امرأة شريفة مريضة قد عجز الأطباء عن شفائها وقد أشرفت على الموت فشفيت حالاً. وكان ذلك بحضرة الملك وأمام جمعٍ غفير. فدُهش جميعهم ومجّدوا الله. ثمّ وجدوا المسامير التي سُمِّرت بها يدا المخلّص ورجلاه مع الرّق الذي كان على صليبه. فشطرت الملكة الصّليب جزئين أرسلت أحدهما إلى ابنها الملك قسطنطين الذي حفظه في كنيسة القسطنطينيّة. ووضعت الآخر في أورشليم ليكرمه الزائرون.
هذا ما ذكره أوسابيوس قسطنطين في تاريخه (كتاب 3 ف 25). وقد شيَّدت هيلانة وابنها قسطنطين كنيسة فخمة على قبر المسيح هي آية في البناء. ابتدأ بنيانها سنة 326 وانتهى سنة 335. بركة الصَّليب المقدّس معنا. آمين!

In the year 326, Saint Helena, the mother of King Constantine the Great, went to Jerusalem to uncover the tomb of the Savior and His Holy Cross. And in agreement with St. Makarios, Bishop of Jerusalem. I emptied the effort in the excavation until the excavators uncovered a cave in which they found three crosses. And since the parchment that Pilate attached to the cross of the Savior was separated from it, he did not know which of the three crosses was the cross of the Savior. By divine inspiration, Saint Makarios, the patriarch, recognized him by putting him on an honorable, sick woman whom the doctors were unable to heal, and she was on the verge of death, so she was cured immediately. And that was in the presence of the king and in front of a large crowd. They were all amazed and glorified God. Then they found the nails with which the Savior’s hands and feet were nailed together with the parchment that was on His cross. So the queen split the cross into two parts and sent one of them to her son, King Constantine, who preserved it in the Church of Constantinople. And I put the other in Jerusalem for visitors to honor.
This is what Eusebius Constantine mentioned in his history (book 3 p. 25). Helena and her son Constantine built a luxurious church over the tomb of Christ, which is a masterpiece in construction. Its construction began in the year 326 and ended in the year 335. The blessing of the Holy Cross is with us. Amen!
