ترأس البطريرك الماروني الكاردينال مار بشارة بطرس الراعي قداسا لراحة نفس ضحايا انفجار مرفأ بيروت وعلى نية شفاء الجرحى، لمناسبة مرور سنتين على الانفجار، في كاتدرائية مار جرجس المارونية في وسط بيروت.
وألقى الراعي عظة بعنوان “طوبى لأولئك العبيد الذين، متى أتى سيدهم، وجدهم متيقظين” (لو 12: 37)، قال فيها: “لفظة “عبيد” في الكتاب المقدس مشتقة من “عبد”. والعبد هو عابد الله، الذي يمنحه الله ثقته في ما يحمل من مسؤولية في العائلة أو في الكنيسة أو في الدولة. وبالتالي “العبد” هو صاحب مسؤولية، الذي من واجبه أن يكون منصرفا إلى عمله، مدركا مسؤولياته عن تأمين الخير العام في مختلف الظروف. إنه من عداد المسؤولين الذين يطوبهم الله، لأنهم يمارسون واجباتهم تجاه من هم ضمن إطار مسؤولياتهم، فيقول: “طوبى لأولئك العبيد الذين، متى أتى سيدهم، يجدهم متيقظين”( لو 12: 37). وإذا لم يكونوا كذلك وقائمين بواجب مسؤوليتهم، يفصلهم سيدهم ويجعل نصيبهم مع الأشرار (راجع لو 12: 46). “مجيء سيدهم” يعني حضور الله الذي يطالب المسؤولين، كل المسؤولين، القيام بواجبهم”.
أضاف: “نجتمع لنتحتفل بهذه الليتورجيا الإلهية في الذكرى السنوية الثانية لتفجير مرفأ بيروت. فنقدم الذبيحة الالهية لراحة نفوس الشهداء المئتين وواحد وعشرين، ولعزاء عائلاتهم وذويهم، وأنسبائهم، ومن أجل شفاء الجرحى الذين أصيبوا بإعاقة دائمة بين الستة آلاف مواطن ومواطنة، وبعض الغرباء غير اللبنانيين، ولنطالب بالتعويض لهم وللمتضررين من هدم بيوتهم ومؤسساتهم ومتاجرهم ومدارسهم ومستشفياتهم ودور العبادة. ويشترك معنا في هذه الذكرى الثانية قداسة البابا فرنسيس بالنداء الذي وجهه أمس في المقابلة العامة إلى عائلات الشهداء والشعب اللبناني. فنشكره على محبته الأبوية ونصلي من أجل شفائه التام، ومن اجل تحقيق امنياته بشأن لبنان وكما قال وولادته من جديد. لذلك نحن نؤمن بقيامة بيروت ومعها لبنان، فنعود “منارة الشرق ومستشفى الشرق ومصرف الشرق ووطن التلاقي وحوار الحضارات والاديان، بحياده الايجابي الناشط. إننا نرفع الصوت الغاضب، مع جميع هؤلاء بوجه المسؤولين، أيا كانوا، وأينما كانوا، ومهما كانوا؛ أولئك الذين يعرقلون التحقيق كأن ما جرى مجرد حادث تافه وعابر لا يستحق التوقف عنده، ويمكن معالجته بالهروب أو بتسوية أو مقايضة كما يفعلون عادة في السياسة. ونسأل المسؤولين في الدولة: ماذا يريدون أكثر من هذه الجريمة، جريمة العصر لكي يتحركوا؟ وماذا يريد القضاء أكثر من هذا لكي ينتفض لكرامته ويستعيد دوره ويعود قبلة المظلومين”.
وتابع: “نحن اليوم أمام جريمتين: جريمة تفجير المرفأ، وجريمة تجميد التحقيق. فالتجميد لا يقل فداحة عن التفجير، لأنه فعل متعمد وإرادي بلغ حد زرع الفتنة بين أهالي الضحايا. لا تستطيع السلطات الحاكمة والمهيمنة التبرؤ مما حصل: فمنها من تسبب بالتفجير، ومنها من علم بوجود المواد المتفجرة وبخطورتها، وأهمل، ومنها من تلكأ، ومنها من سكت، ومنها من غطى، ومنها من جبن، ومنها من عطل التحقيق، ومنها من وجد في تجميد عمل القاضي المسؤول الحل المريح لكي يتهرب من مسؤولية حسم مرجعية التحقيق. إنها لعبة توزيع الأدوار بين عدد من المسؤولين على مختلف المستويات الدستورية والسياسية والأمنية والقضائية. هؤلاء إلى دينونة الله يساقون، إذا هربوا من عدالة الأرض أو منعوا سطوعها. والتاريخ لن يسقط من ذاكرته جميع من سعوا إلى محو حقيقة جريمة العصر وحق الشعب في العدالة. والله يدين منذ الآن هؤلاء المسؤولين. اليوم هو “مجيء سيدهم”
المطلوب أن يستأنف قاضي التحقيق العدلي عمله وصولا إلى الحقيقة. نحن لا نتهم أحدا ولا نظن بأحد ولا نبرئ أحدا. الناس في الشارع وانتم منهم لا يصنعون العدالة، بل يريدون العدالة. إن تجميد التحقيق يساوي بين البريء والمذنب. نحن نرفض أن يكون بعض المتهمين مذنبين وطليقين، وبعضهم الآخر أبرياء ومعتقلين، ومن بينهم من كتب إلى السلطات المعنية ونبه ولا إستجابة، بل هو موقوف منذ سنتين من دون محاكمة. ألا يشكل هذا الواقع الظالم وخز ضمير وتأنيب لدى كل مسؤول؟ وكوننا نعرف من الخبرة عن القضاء المسيس في لبنان، فقد طالبنا منذ اليوم الأول لتفجير المرفأ بتحقيق دولي، إذ أن الجريمة قد تكون جريمة ضد الإنسانية في حال تبين أنها عمل مدبر. وأتت تعقيدات التحقيق المحلي والعراقيل السياسية لتعطي الأحقية في تجديد المطالبة بالتحقيق الدولي إذا استمر الوضع كذلك. لا يحق لدولة أن تمتنع عن إجراء تحقيق لبناني وتمنع بالمقابل إجراء تحقيق دولي. والمستغرب أن جريمة تفجير المرفأ غائبة عن اهتمامات الحكومة قبل استقالتها وبعدها، لا بل أن بعض وزرائها يتغافل عنها وبعضهم الآخر يعرقل سير العدالة من دون وجه حق، ومن دون أن يبادر مجلس الوزراء إلى التحرك ومعالجة الأمر”.
وأردف: “أردنا بهذا الإحتفال أن نضم صوتنا إلى صوت أهالي الضحايا والشهداء وعائلاتهم، وإلى صوت الجرحى والمعوقين، وصوت المتضررين. وكأنهم باتوا جميعهم منسيين أو حتى مزعجين للمسؤولين في الدولة، لأنهم يشكلون لهم وخز ضمير، فيما هم يريدون خنق صوت ضميرهم إياه الذي هو صوت الله في أعماقهم: اما بين “قايين، أين أخوك؟” (تك 4: 9). يأمرهم ضميرهم: لا تعرقلوا عمل المحقق العدلي بطلبات الرد المتسارعة بحقه! بقصد تكبيل يديه بغية طمس الحقيقة وعرقلة العدالة! لا تعرقلوا التحقيق بالضغط السياسي على القضاة! وبعدم إعطاء أذونات ملاحقة بحق مطلوبين إلى التحقيق! لا تعطلوا التشكيلات القضائية للهيئة العامة لمحكمة التمييز بالامتناع عن توقيعها، بقوة النافذين السياسيين! لا تتعرضوا لأهالي الشهداء بالضرب والتوقيف والتحقيق على خلفية التظاهر والمطالبة بالعدالة! فإنكم بذلك تقتلونهم مرتين!”.
وختم الراعي: “جميع الكوارث التي تحصل في العالم، أكانت من حركة الطبيعة، أم مفتعلة، يحفظ جزء منها لذاكرة التاريخ، كشاهد لما حصل. هذا ما فتئ يطالب به أهالي الشهداء بالنسبة إلى حماية الأهراءات من السقوط، وهي الشاهد الناطق لجريمة تفجير المرفأ، المسماة جريمة العصر! فلماذا، أيها المسؤولون في الدولة، تهملون المحافظة على هذه الأهراءات الشاهدة. فلا أفرغتم القمح المتبقي منعا لتخميره، ولا دعمتم الأهراءات تجنبا لسقوطها؟ ولماذا لم تستعينوا بمؤازرة الدول الصديقة المجاورة لإطفاء النيران، فتركتموها تتكاثر وتتنامى لأكثر من عشرين يوما، وكأن المقصود تدمير هذه الأهراءات، ومحو الذاكرة! إذا كنا ننادي باستمرار بوجوب تشكيل حكومة جديدة، وانتخاب رئيس جديد للجمهورية ضمن المهل الدستورية، فلكي يكون جلاء حقيقة تفجير المرفأ في رأس اولوياتها، مع الإلتزام أمام الله والوطن وأهالي الشهداء والجرحى والمتضررين، وأمام بيروت العاصمة الجريحة، بالسعي الجاد والمخلص لحسم هذه القضية الوطنية والإنسانية التي تعلو كل القضايا. فقط في نور الحقيقة والعدالة نستطيع أن نقف أمام الله، ونمجده ونشكره، الآب والإبن والروح القدس، الآن وإلى الأبد، آمين”.

ترأس متروبوليت بيروت وتوابعها للروم الأرثوذكس المطران الياس عوده، لمناسبة الذكرى الثانية لتفجير مرفأ بيروت، جنازا لراحة نفوس الضحايا الذين سقطوا في مستشفى القديس جاورجيوس الجامعي، يشاركه متروبوليت جبيل والبترون المطران سلوان موسى، في حضور نائب رئيس مجلس النواب الياس أبو صعب، وزير الصحة في حكومة تصريف الأعمال فراس الأبيض، وزير الإعلام في حكومة تصريف الأعمال زياد المكاري، نائبي بيروت غسان حاصباني وملحم خلف وأهالي الضحايا وأعضاء مجلس إدارة المستشفى والمدير العام والأطباء والممرضين والموظفين.
بعد الإنجيل ألقى عظة قال فيها: “نجتمع اليوم كعائلة واحدة، عائلة مستشفى القديس جاورجيوس الجامعي، لنصلي بروح واحدة ونفس واحدة من أجل راحة نفوس أحبة لنا سقطوا في هذا المستشفى الذي كان مثلهم من ضحايا إنفجار الرابع من آب، الذي خلف مئات الضحايا، وآلاف الجرحى والمشردين، وعاصمة ثكلى ما زالت تبكي أبناءها، وتبكي نفسها بسبب اليتم الذي تشعر به. فالمسؤولون مشغولون عنها بألف أمر وأمر، والزعماء مشغولون بأنفسهم، ومعظم أبنائها قد هجروها طلبا لسقف يأويهم، أو سعيا وراء عمل يؤمن لهم حياة كريمة في بلاد تحتضنهم. رغم هول المصاب، كنا وما زلنا نردد مع النبي داود: “أسبح الرب في حياتي، وأرنم لإلهي ما دمت موجودا” (مزمور 146: 2)، ونقول لأبنائنا وبناتنا ما قاله داود قديما: “ألق على الرب همك فهو يعولك، ولا يدع الصديق يتزعزع إلى الأبد” (مزمور 55: 22)”.
أضاف: “خلاصنا، يا أحبة، بالرب وحده، لأن المسؤولين في الزمن البشري لا يأبهون لخير المواطنين، لذلك مجددا مع النبي داود ندعو الجميع الى أن “لا تتكلوا على الرؤساء ولا على إبن آدم، حيث لا خلاص عنده، تخرج روحه فيعود إلى ترابه. في ذلك اليوم نفسه تهلك أفكاره” (مزمور 146: 3-4). ليت كل المسؤولين، من وزراء ونواب وأمنيين وقضاة، يتمعنون بهذا القول: “تخرج روحه فيعود إلى ترابه، في ذلك اليوم نفسه تهلك أفكاره. إن الموت نصيب كل بشري مهما علا شأنه، أو عظم مركزه، أو كبرت ثروته، ومهما تكبر وتجبر واستغل وبطش. حياته الآتية تحددها أعماله على هذه الأرض. ترى كيف سيقف من كانوا مسؤولين عن كارثة بيروت أمام منبر الله المرهوب؟ وبماذا سيجيبون؟ وكيف يواجهون أولادهم وأحفادهم عندما يسألونهم من فجر بيروت؟ ولماذا؟ بل كيف يواجهون ضمائرهم؟”
وتابع: “سنتان انقضتا على جريمة لم يكن أحد ليقبلها لبيروت، عاصمة العلم والنور والحرية والإبداع. سنتان مرتا على آلام أهل بيروت ولم تلتئم الجراح بعد، لأن مقترفي الجريمة ما زالوا يتمتعون بحريتهم، فيما أهل بيروت، وهذا المستشفى، وكل المؤسسات التي كانت فخر المنطقة، ما زالت تعاني، ولم تنهض من جراحها بعد. سنتان ولم يتوصل القضاء إلى كشف الحقيقة ليس لأن القضاء يتقاعس، بل لأن السطوة السياسية تعيق عمل القضاء وتمنع العدالة. نحن، مع أهالي بيروت المنكوبة، وذوي الضحايا، وكل من أصابه التفجير في جسده أو نفسه أو ممتلكاته، لا نبتغي سوى أمر واحد هو معرفة حقيقة ما جرى في مرفأ بيروت، ومعاقبة كل من خطط عن قصد، أو ساهم عن غير قصد، ومن غض النظر رغم علمه بخطورة المواد الموجودة هناك. معرفة الحقيقة لن ترجع أي ضحية إلى الحياة، ولن تشفي جراح المصابين، ولن تهدئ النفوس المكسورة، ولن تبني البيوت المدمرة، إلا أنها بالتأكيد سوف تطمئن قلوب أهالي الضحايا والمصابين لأن المجرم كشف، والعدالة تحققت، وسوف يكون العقاب رادعا لكل من تسول له نفسه القيام بعمل مدمر في المستقبل”.
وقال: “في هذه الذكرى الثانية للاغتيال الوحشي لمدينة بيروت، مع ما رافقه من ضحايا وأضرار وآلام، نرفع الصلاة إلى الرب الغالب الموت لكي يرفع الضيق عن هذا البلد الجريح، وينير عقول المسؤولين لكي يخرجوا من أنانياتهم، ويتجاوزوا كبرياءهم، ويتخطوا مصالحهم، ويفرجوا عن التحقيق عوض تعطيله، لكي تظهر الحقيقة، ويعاقب الفاعل. كما نسأله أن ينعم بالصبر والقوة والإيمان الثابت على كل مواطن يحب هذا البلد الحبيب. كذلك، لا نكل من الصلاة لأجل من لا يزالون يعانون في أجسادهم وأرواحهم من هذا الانفجار المشؤوم، وسمعنا مؤخرا عن انتقال بعضهم إلى الأخدار السماوية بعد سنتين من العذاب بسبب إصاباتهم البليغة. كما نصلي من أجل كل من لا يزالون خارج منازلهم المدمرة، يفتشون عن سقف وحياة كريمة. أما أحباؤنا الذين سقطوا في هذا الصرح، وجميع ضحايا هذا التفجير الآثم، فصلاتنا متواصلة من أجل أن يكونوا في مقر راحة، حيث لا وجع ولا حزن ولا تنهد بل حياة لا تفنى. ومن أجل تخليد ذكرى ممرضاتنا والضحايا الذين سقطوا معهن في هذه المؤسسة، شئنا أن تحفر أسماؤهم على هذا الجدار المقابل للباب الرئيسي للمستشفى لكي يراها كل داخل إلى هذا الصرح، ويطلب لهم الرحمة، فيما دولتنا، وعوض المحافظة على الإهراءات كشاهد على جريمة العصر، قد تكون مزمعة على هدمها لمحو ذكرى المآسي التي عاشتها بيروت وأهلها، أو لمحو الأدلة وتجهيل الجناة”.
وختم: “حفظكم الله وحفظ بيروت ولبنان من كل شر وأسكن ضحايانا في فردوسه السماوي”.

Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, presided over a Mass service in memory of the fallen martyrs and victims of the Beirut Port explosion and devoted to the intention of healing the wounded, marking the two-year anniversary of the explosion, which was held at St. George’s Maronite Cathedral in downtown Beirut this morning. In his homily, the Patriarch said: “We gather to hold this Divine Liturgy on the second anniversary of the Beirut Port blast. We offer the Divine Sacrifice for the comfort of the souls of the two hundred and twenty-one martyrs, and for the consolation of their families and relatives, and for the recovery of the wounded who were permanently disabled among the six thousand male and female citizens and some non-Lebanese, and we demand compensation for them and those affected by the demolition of their homes, institutions, shops, schools, hospitals, and places of worship.”
He added: “On this second anniversary, his Holiness Pope Francis shares with us the appeal he made yesterday to the families of the martyrs and the Lebanese people. We thank him for his fatherly love and pray for his total recovery, and for the fulfillment of his wishes for Lebanon, as he said, and for its rebirth. That is why we believe in the resurrection of Beirut, and with it all of Lebanon, so we return to being the ‘Beacon of the Orient’, the ‘Hospital & Bank of the East’, the homeland of convergence and the dialogue of civilizations and religions, with its active and positive neutrality…”
The Patriarch expressed the people’s anger and dismay against those responsible for obstructing the investigation into the port crime as if what happened were just a trivial and fleeting incident, saying: “We ask state officials: What do they want more than this crime, the crime of the era, in order to act? What does the judiciary want more than this in order to rise up for its dignity and resume its role?”
“Today, we are facing two crimes: the crime of the port explosion, and the crime of freezing the investigation, for the latter is no less serious than the blast itself because it is a deliberate and voluntary act that has reached the point of sowing discord among the families of the victims,” al-Rahi underlined, considering that the ruling and dominant authorities cannot disavow what happened.
The Patriarch went on to stress that “what is required is that the judicial investigative judge resumes his work in order to reach the truth. We do not accuse anyone nor exonerate anyone…People want justice…Freezing the investigation equates the innocent with the guilty. We reject the fact that some of the accused are guilty and free, while others are innocent and detained, and among them are those who wrote to the relevant authorities, cautioning them with no response, but rather have been detained for two years without trial!”He added that in wake of the “politicized judiciary” in Lebanon, calls were made from the very first day of the blast “for an international investigation, as the crime may be a crime against humanity if it turns out that it was pre-planned…”
“The complexities of the local investigation and the political obstacles came to acknowledge the right to renew the demand for an international investigation if the situation persists,” he said, adding that “no state has the right to refrain from conducting a Lebanese investigation and, in return, prevent an international investigation.” “Surprisingly, the crime of the port explosion is absent from the government’s concerns before and after its resignation. Rather, some of its ministers ignore it and others impede the course of justice unjustly, and without the cabinet taking the initiative to act and address this matter,” al-Rahi maintained.
“With this memorial service, we wish to add our voice to that of the families of the victims and martyrs, to the voice of the wounded and disabled, and to the voice of those affected,” he said, pledging “commitment before the Lord, the homeland, the families of the martyrs, the injured and those affected, and before the wounded capital, Beirut, to strive hard and sincerely to resolve this national and humanitarian issue that is above all issues.”
“Only in the light of truth and justice can we stand before God, glorify and give thanks to the Lord Almighty,” al-Rahi concluded.

The Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Beirut Archbishop Elias Aoudi presided over the mass that was held, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Beirut Port bombing and the a funeral for the repose of the souls of the victims who fell because of Beirut Port explosion.
After the Gospel, he delivered a sermon in which he said: “We gather today as one family, the family of St. George University Hospital, to pray with one spirit and one soul for the comfort of the souls of our loved ones who fell in this hospital, which was like them from the victims of the August 4 explosion, which left hundreds of victims, and thousands The wounded and the homeless, and the bereaved capital is still crying for its children, and crying itself because of the orphan it feels. The horror of the afflicted, we were and still say with the Prophet David: “I praise the Lord in my life, and sing praises to my God as long as I exist” (Psalm 146:2), and we say to our sons and daughters what David said in the old days: forever” (Psalm 55:22).
He added: “Our salvation, my beloved, is in the Lord alone, because the officials in human times do not care about the welfare of the citizens, so again with the Prophet David we call on everyone to “do not trust in the leaders or the son of Adam, where there is no salvation for him, his soul goes out and returns to his soil.” . On that very day his thoughts shall perish” (Psalm 146:3-4). I wish all officials, ministers, representatives, security officials, and judges, ponder this saying: “His spirit departs, and he returns to his dust; on that very day his thoughts perish. Death is the share of every human being, no matter how high his rank, or how great his position, or how great his wealth, and no matter how big, coercive, exploitative and brutal he is. His next life is determined by his actions on this earth. How will those who were responsible for the Beirut disaster stand before the dreaded pulpit of God? And what will they answer? And how do they face their children and grandchildren when they ask them about the dawn of Beirut? And why? How do they face their conscience?”
He continued: “Two years have passed for a crime that no one would accept for Beirut, the capital of science, light, freedom and creativity. Two years have passed for the pain of the people of Beirut and the wounds have not yet healed, because the perpetrators of the crime still enjoy their freedom, while the people of Beirut, this hospital, and all the institutions that were pride The region is still suffering, and has not yet recovered from its wounds.Two years and the judiciary has not been able to reveal the truth, not because the judiciary is inaction, but because political power impedes the work of the judiciary and prevents justice. Or himself or his property, we only want one thing, which is to know the truth about what happened in the port of Beirut, and to punish all those who deliberately planned, or unintentionally contributed, and those who turned a blind eye despite knowing the danger of the materials found there. Knowing the truth will not bring any victim back to life. And it will not heal the wounds of the injured, it will not calm the broken souls, and it will not build destroyed houses, but it will certainly reassure the hearts of the families of the victims and the injured because the criminal has been revealed, and justice has been achieved, and the punishment will be a deterrent to anyone who begs himself to do a destructive act in the future.
He said: “On this second anniversary of the brutal assassination of the city of Beirut, with the accompanying victims, damage and pain, we raise a prayer to the Lord who overcomes death to lift the distress from this wounded country, and enlighten the minds of the officials so that they come out of their selfishness, transcend their pride, transcend their interests, and release the The investigation instead of obstructing it, so that the truth may appear, and the perpetrator be punished.
