وَأَنْتُمْ، يَامَنْ تُخَطِّطُونَ قَائِلِينَ: «الْيَوْمَ أَوْ غَداً، نَذْهَبُ إِلَى مَدِينَةِ كَذَا، وَنَقْضِي هُنَاكَ سَنَةً، فَنُتَاجِرُ وَنَرْبَحُ…» مَهْلاً! فَأَنْتُمْ لاَ تَعْرِفُونَ مَاذَا يَحْدُثُ غَداً! وَمَا هِيَ حَيَاتُكُمْ؟ إِنَّهَا بُخَارٌ، يَظْهَرُ فَتْرَةً قَصِيرَةً ثُمَّ يَتَلاَشَى! بَدَلاً مِنْ ذَلِكَ، كَانَ يَجِبُ أَنْ تَقُولُوا: إِنْ شَاءَ الرَّبُّ، نَعِيشُ وَنَعْمَلُ هَذَا الأَمْرَ أَوْ ذَاكَ!» وَإِلاَّ، فَإِنَّكُمْ تَفْتَخِرُونَ مُتَكَبِّرِينَ. وَكُلُّ افْتِخَارٍ كَهَذَا، هُوَ افْتِخَارٌ رَدِيءٌ. فَمَنْ يَعْرِفْ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ الصَّوَابَ، وَلاَ يَعْمَلُهُ، فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يُحْسَبُ لَهُ خَطِيئَةً.

ارسالة القديس بولس الرسول إلى روميه 06/15-23/“فماذا، إذا؟ أنخطأ لأننا في حكم النعمة لا في حكم الشريعة؟ كلا! ألا تعلمون أنكم إذا جعلتم أنفسكم لأحد عبيدا للطاعة، صرتم عبيدا لمن تطيعون: إما للخطيئة التي تقود إلى الموت، وإما للطاعة التي تقود إلى البر. ولكن شكرا لله! فمع أنكم كنتم عبيدا للخطيئة، أطعتم بكل قلوبكم تلك التعاليم التي تسلمتموها، فتحررتم من الخطيئة وأصبحتم عبيدا للبر. وتعبـيري هذا بشري يراعي ضعفكم البشري. فكما جعلتم من أعضائكم عبيدا للدنس والشر في خدمة الشر، فكذلك اجعلوا الآن من أعضائكم عبيدا للبر في خدمة القداسة. وحين كنتم عبيدا للخطيئة، كنتم أحرارا غير ملتزمين بما هو للبر. فأي ثمر جنيتم في ذلك الوقت من الأعمال التي تخجلون منها الآن، وعاقبتها الموت؟ أما الآن، بعدما تحررتم من الخطيئة وصرتم عبيدا لله، فأنتم تجنون ثمر القداسة، وعاقبته الحياة الأبدية، لأن أجرة الخطيئة هي الموت، وأما هبة الله، فهي الحياة الأبدية في المسيح يسوع ربنا”.

You are in fact the slaves of the master you obey
Romans 06/14-23: “What, then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law but under God’s grace? By no means! Surely you know that when you surrender yourselves as slaves to obey someone, you are in fact the slaves of the master you obey—either of sin, which results in death, or of obedience, which results in being put right with God. But thanks be to God! For though at one time you were slaves to sin, you have obeyed with all your heart the truths found in the teaching you received. You were set free from sin and became the slaves of righteousness. (I use everyday language because of the weakness of your natural selves.) At one time you surrendered yourselves entirely as slaves to impurity and wickedness for wicked purposes. In the same way you must now surrender yourselves entirely as slaves of righteousness for holy purposes. When you were the slaves of sin, you were free from righteousness.21 What did you gain from doing the things that you are now ashamed of The result of those things is death! But now you have been set free from sin and are the slaves of God. Your gain is a life fully dedicated to him, and the result is eternal life. For sin pays its wage—death; but God’s free gift is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord.

Boasting About Tomorrow
James 04/13-17/Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
