إن أراد أحد أن يأتي ورائي، فلينكر نفسه ويحمل صليبه كل يوم، ويتبعني
انجيل القديس لوقا/09/من23حتى27/:”وقال للجميع: إن أراد أحد أن يأتي ورائي، فلينكر نفسه ويحمل صليبه كل يوم، ويتبعني فإن من أراد أن يخلص نفسه يهلكها، ومن يهلك نفسه من أجلي فهذا يخلصها لأنه ماذا ينتفع الإنسان لو ربح العالم كله، وأهلك نفسه أو خسرها لأن من استحى بي وبكلامي، فبهذا يستحي ابن الإنسان متى جاء بمجده ومجد الآب والملائكة القديسين حقا أقول لكم: إن من القيام ههنا قوما لا يذوقون الموت حتى يروا ملكوت الله”
If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me
Luke 09/23-27/:”23 He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self? For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels. But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here who will in no way taste of death until they see God’s Kingdom.”
For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God
Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians 18-25/”For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written,“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise. I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.”Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe. 22 For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God; because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”
